Norman Parke set for UFC's Mexican debut after Dublin demolition

The Ulsterman has been called up to the UFC Mexico Card

NORTHERN IRELAND’S STORMIN’ Norman Parke will take part in the first ever UFC event in Mexico when he fights veteran Diego Sanchez at UFC 180 on November 15.

Parke has been rewarded for his show-stopping performance in beating Naoyuki Kotani at UFC Dublin on July 19.

Sanchez, of course, was the first ever winner of The Ultimate Fighter and has 25 wins to his name in his mixed martial arts career. However, the American has never won a UFC title, losing his only championship match to BJ Penn six years ago.

From Bushmills, Northern Ireland, Parke has a 4-0-1 record in the UFC with a draw against Leonardo Santos the only time the 27-year old has failed to leave the octagon with a win.

UFC 180 will be headlined by the heavyweight title bout that sees Cain Velasquez defend his title against Fabricio Werdum in Mexico City as well as the welterweight clash of Kelvin Gastelum and Jake Ellenberger.
